The photographer is one of the first bookings after the venue. The wedding plan schedules it 6 months before the wedding and 45 days before the engagement, and you can move the date as you like.
What does photography cost?
According to Masrawy (September 2026), a photographer with a video crew in Greater Cairo and Giza costs about EGP 8,000 to 110,000, depending on the team, the hours of coverage and the production quality. Some platforms list packages from EGP 13,500 to 135,000. These are approximate prices, and the details are in the wedding price guide.

An Instagram page shows the best photo from each wedding. Ask to see the complete photos from 2 or 3 weddings, not just a selection. That tells you whether the photographer keeps the same standard all day, and how they handle difficult light.
Questions before the deposit
- Who will shoot on the day? The studio's owner or someone from the team? Is there a second photographer?
- Hours: how many hours does the package include, and what does each extra hour cost?
- The photos: how many edited photos will you receive, and how long after the wedding?
- Video and album: are they in the package or extra?
- Unedited files: will you get the photos before editing, or not?
- Back-up: if the photographer falls ill on the day, who replaces them? Do they carry a spare camera and two memory cards?
- Posting: may they post your photos on their pages? Agree on it in writing, in whatever way you're comfortable with.
- The money: how much is the deposit, when is the rest due, and what happens if either side cancels?
Drones and the permit
Filming with a drone in Egypt needs a permit from the Ministry of Defence, under Law No. 216 of 2017. Using a drone without one is punishable by one to seven years in prison, a fine of EGP 5,000 to 50,000, or both, and the equipment is confiscated. So before you agree on any aerial shots, ask to see the permit.
On Zaghrouta, a photographer who offers drone shots must upload the permit first, and their page says «موثّق: تصريح الدرون» (verified: drone permit).
What to put in the agreement
- The hours, the delivery date and the overtime rate.
- The number of edited photos, the video and the album.
- Cancellation and the deposit.
- What you agreed about posting.
